Made on Islay is an association of artists and craftspeople living and working on the island of Islay in the Hebrides. We have been running Art & Craft Markets in Port Ellen since 2004, and last year we started a second venue in Bruichladdich.
If you are looking for something different, for yourself or as a gift, visit one of our Art & Craft Markets. Many of the items on sale are only available at these events, and if you are unable to find exactly what you want, just ask; many members are happy to take commissions and work to your specifications.
In Port Ellen, our Art & Craft Markets are held in the Columba Hall, Frederick Crescent, which is easy to find, just along from the Co-op. If you find yourself spoilt for choice, and need time to make up your mind, you can relax over light refreshments served in the small hall. The menu includes a range of homemade soups, filled rolls, home baking, teas, coffees and cold drinks. These are provided by volunteers from St. John's Church, Port Ellen, with all money raised going to Church funds.
Bruichladdich Hall is our venue on Tuesdays. It is situated near the start of the village, at the Bridgend side. Light refreshments are served here by one of our members.
At both venues, our events are open from 11am until 4pm, and refreshments are served all day.
Unlike many larger events, we do not make a charge for admission. However, if you enjoy your visit, we would ask you to show your appreciation by making a donation. This year, our collections will be going to St. John's Church, Port Ellen.
If you live on Islay and produce handmade goods to a high standard, we would be delighted to hear from you. We are always pleased to welcome new members.
